The 100th truck rolling off the production line in Pune

India / Singapore – Blue Energy Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd* (Blue Energy Motors) of Pune, a two-year-old start-up backed by a Singapore-based finance firm, has manufactured its 100th LNG truck from its factory in Pune, India.

The first model, the BE 5528+ truck was introduced in November 2022, marking the beginning of Blue Energy Motor's entry into the LNG-fuelled truck industry. According to the company, the truck has been popular in the Indian cement and steel sectors and, with 280 horsepower and 1000 Nm of torque, it is claimed to be the most powerful liquified natural gas truck on the Indian market. The truck uses multipoint stoichiometric combustion engine technology from FPT, which delivers quieter operation than conventional fuel-powered trucks.
