Finland – Swedish industrial company Beijer Alma AB, through its subsidiary Beijer Tech, acquired the majority of shares (72.1%) in bus and coach premium quality windscreen specialist manufacturer, Finn Lamex Safety Glass Oy (Finn Lamex) of Laitila, Finland. The remaining shares will remain with senior management who will act as the minority owners following the transaction. There is significant capital to be invested in the company with the explicit aim of doubling its manufacturing capacity by the end of 2027 to service both the OE and aftermarket segments. This will of course require investment into its factory in Laitila. The company generates EUR 14m in annual revenue with 80 staff on the books. Current major bus OE customers include Alexander Dennis and VDL.
Tero Toivanen, Finn Lamex’s Managing Director said: “I am happy to welcome Beijer Tech as a new long term majority owner of Finn Lamex. The company has taken significant steps in its development over the last few years, and we are now looking forward to continuing our journey. I would also like to thank our previous majority owners, Länsi-Suomen Pääomarahasto Oy and Kasvattajarahasto Ky governed by Aboa Venture Management Oy, for a good corporation since we bought the company together in 2016.”
