India's light truck market falls marginally in Q4/22-23

India - Sales of LCV goods carrier vehicles (light trucks) of gvw ≤ 7.5t fell by 1.2% to 147,131 units in Q4 of FY 2022-23 ending March 31, 2023 from 148,890 units in same period of FY 2021-22. Production of light trucks also fell marginally by 3.6% to 160,362 (166,404), while exports fell by 27.3% to 12,352 (17,000).

The lightest segment at GVW ≤ 2t saw domestic sales decline by 13.0% to 48,221 units in Q4 of FY2022-23 from 55,433 units in Q4 of FY2021-22. Production fell by 4.5% and export sales up by 40.4%.
