Sweden / PolandScania AB, a subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Södertälje, Sweden, has announced that it will cease body production for bus chassis at its plant in Słupsk, Poland next year.

Production of bus chassis and bodies has been carried out by Scania at the Słupsk site since it opened in 1993. However, body production will be gradually wound down in the first quarter of 2024, and the part of the plant where the bodies are made will be closed down. Though chassis production at the site will reportedly continue uninterrupted, Scania has not yet given any indication as to how many jobs will be affected by the closure.
