Cummins completes BS-VI OBD II emission standard compliance with ARAI

Cummins receives BS-VI OBD Phase II Emissions certification from ARAI

India / USA - Engine manufacturer, Cummins India Ltd of Pune, a subsidiary of Cummins Inc of Columbus, Indiana, USA, has completed the tests for compliance with the relevant Bharat Stage VI On-Board Diagnosis II* emissions standards introduced this April, in February 2023. Cummins completed all testing requirements for two engines model sizes, the B5.6 and B6.7, successfully.

Phase II of OBD provides a device to monitor the emissions levels, and the certification process for BS-VI including a demonstration of how the vehicle can meet the OBD standards outside laboratory testing. Engine tests, and vehicle-level emission testing using the Portable Emissions Measurement System (PEMS) are also a part of the process.
