Mellor launches high-floor version of Sigma electric range

UK – In May, Mellor Coachcraft Ltd of Rochdale, UK launched a high-floor version of its battery electric ‘Sigma’ range of buses for specialist passenger transportation, which it claims is the first of its kind in the industry.
The ‘Sigma High Floor’ is offered in two lengths: 7 metres and 9 metres. The 7m model can accommodate 22 seated passengers or seven wheelchairs, while the 9m can accommodate 34 seated passengers or ten wheelchairs. The bus has a flat floor throughout and a standard-fit wheelchair-friendly passenger lift at the rear double doors. The range of the Sigma High Floor is 160 miles.
