Peterbilt showcases new Model 589 with classic look

Model 589 by Peterbilt

USA – At the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth on 9 May, Peterbilt Motors Company of Denton, Texas presented a new premium Class 8 truck model which will be available to order in August for deliveries from 2024.

The ‘Model 589’ eschews the modern look of the ‘Model 579’ in favour of a retro styling that is meant to capture the “classic” Peterbilt look. Exterior features include an aluminium hood, wraparound grille crown with triple bars, rectangular grille mesh, 15-inch air cleaners, 7-inch exhaust stacks, and LED fender-brace running lights. Inside, the customer has the choice of multiple trim packages and sleeper configurations, along with a new instrument panel, automatic climate control, and greater storage space as standard. Customers opting for the ‘Legendary Package’ will receive a truck with vintage Peterbilt branding both inside and out.
