Fuso begins European production of new generation eCanter

Portugal / Japan – Launched in autumn 2022, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (“Fuso”) (a Daimler Truck subsidiary) of Kawasaki, Japan, finally announced series production of the remodeled (fifth generation) eCanter in Tramagal, Portugal. Production had already started in Q1 2023 at the Kawasaki plant to supply the Japanese market. The new generation eCanter will initially be offered in 17 European markets (France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Slovakia, Greece and Poland).
Several changes have been made to the new generation eCanter. It is available in two cab widths (standard = 1.7 metres wide and comfort = 2 metres wide), a choice of six wheelbases between 2,500 and 4,750 millimetres, permissible gross weights from 4.25 to 8.55 tons, and two electric motor output options of either 110 kW or 129 kW (depending on gross vehicle weight) and 430 Nm of torque.
