Tractor sales more than double in FY 2022-23

India - Total tractor sales across India increased by 109.4% during FY 2022-23 ending March 31, 2023, to register 58,072 units compared with 27,735 units in the previous year (FY2021-22). Tractor production was also up by 104.4% from 28,487 units to 58,229 units but exports dropped by 37.5%, albeit this accounts for relatively small volumes.
The 26.4 < GCVW ≤ 40t tractor segment experienced sales growth of 91.8% to total 6,399 units in FY 2022-23, up from 3,336 units in the last year (2021-22). Production increased by 65.8% to 2,343 (1,413) and its small volume of exports in this segment increased by 32.3%.
