Iveco Bus announces new company unit and previews electromobility range at UITP

Spain / Italy – Iveco Bus (a brand of the Iveco Group NV) based in Turin, displayed its electromobility range at this past UITP Global Public Transport Summit in Barcelona held from the 5th to the 7th of June. The T&BB team was in attendance to bring you the latest news, which of course included the debut of the first electric version of the 13m suburban Crossway intercity bus (Crossway Le Elec) and the 9.5m electric urban midibus from the E-Way range. 

The Crossway Le Elec is equipped with a central electric motor, 330 kW output for a maximum torque of 2,200 Nm and is powered by an FPT lithium battery pack (NMC), focused on energy density, charging capacity and charging time (5 hours). The vehicle has the option of a 5, 6 or 7 battery-pack configuration distributed between the roof and the rear compartment offering capacities of 346, 416 and 485 kWh respectively for the Class I version and 416 and 485 kWh for the Class II version. The highest capacity version has a range of 400km (248 miles) on a full charge. With deliveries beginning in July 2023, the 12m version offers 44 seats with the 13m offering 48 seats.
