Sweden / FranceVolta Trucks AB of Stockholm, Sweden has announced that its medium-duty battery electric trucks will be installed with driver coaching software powered by artificial intelligence and developed by Nexyad SA, a tech company based in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France.

Nexyad’s main product, ‘SafetyNex’, monitors the driver in real-time and provides guidance and prompts which are intended to encourage “prudent” driving. For instance, it will suggest what speed the driver should keep to, taking into account the speed limit, the condition and gradient of the road, weather, and traffic. It will also assess driving behaviours and provide drivers with a safety score, while also sharing driving data with the operator. SafetyNex monitors driving behaviour through data aggregation – that is to say, it draws on all sources of data from the vehicle and analyses it in real-time.
