Alexander Dennis delivers the first five BYD ADL Enviro400EV buses to Transport for Greater Manchester

BYD–Alexander Dennis Enviro400EV for Bee Network

UK – June saw UK bus manufacturer, Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL) based in Larbert, Scotland, deliver its first five of a batch of one-hundred, next-generation BYD–Alexander Dennis Enviro400EV electric double-deck buses, ordered by Transport for Greater Manchester. This order is a part of the Bee network*, which will initially operate in Wigan, Bolton and parts of Salford and Bury, set to go live in September this year. The order is set to be completed by March 2024.

Seating 62 passengers, these 10.8m long double-deckers are built on a BYD chassis and BYD driveline. The BYD–Alexander Dennis Enviro400EV uses BYD’s Iron-Phosphate battery technology (382kWh batteries) which enables the buses to run for 257 km (160 miles) on a single charge.
