UKTevva Motors Ltd of Tilbury, UK has announced that it has successfully developed a regenerative braking system for its 7.5-tonne battery electric truck which can recover up to four times more energy than a traditional air brake system.

Tevva says it worked extensively with the ‘Commercial Vehicle Solutions’ (CVS) division of German components group ZF Friedrichshafen AG to integrate ZF’s electronic braking system (EBS) with the truck. This involved harmonising the vehicle control unit (VCU) with the EBS and adapting the system to work with Tevva’s brakes.
