Rampini wins Italian tender for up to 280 electric buses

The Eltron by Rampini

Italy – In May, Rampini Carlo SpA of Passignano sul Trasimeno, Italy announced that it successfully bid for a tender for up to 280 battery electric buses organised by Consip SpA, a public joint-stock company which acts as procurer for the Ministero dell’Economia e delle Finanze (Italy’s Ministry of Economy and Finance).

Up to 280 units of Rampini’s 8-metre electric bus, the ‘Eltron’, are now available for public transport operators in Italy to order with certain customisation options. These include a range of colours and liveries, onboard safety devices and advanced driver assistance systems, and full-service maintenance. The tender is funded by the ‘National Recovery and Resilience Plan’ (PNRR), Italy’s EUR191.5bn finance package from the European Commission to foster a post-pandemic economic recovery.
