UK – June saw UK bus manufacturer, Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL) based in Larbert, Scotland, receive an order for 67 BYD–Alexander Dennis battery-electric single-deck buses from a new customer, Diamond North West (a subsidiary of Rotala Plc). The Enviro200EV buses will operate in Greater Manchester and are set to be delivered by the end of the year. This is a result of Rotala winning contracts for franchised bus services under Transport for Greater Manchester’s new Bee Network*, which is set to launch in September this year. The buses will be split up into 3 different lengths (11.8m, 10.8m and 9.7m) to suit different routes.

*Transformed bus services are a key part of Greater Manchester’s Bee Network plan for a more accessible and integrated network, bringing together local trams and buses – and ultimately local train services – with the largest walking, wheeling and cycling network anywhere in the UK.
