Einride enters the Norwegian market

PostNord in Norway

Norway / Sweden – Swedish software development company and autonomous vehicle fleet operator, Einride AB*, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Norwegian postal service, PostNord, to electrify 1,500km of Norwegian highway to bring zero-emission transport to the market. This will involve building electric vehicle charging stations and implementing six Mercedes-Benz eActros 300 delivery vehicles in Oslo Norway, in the first phase, with plans for rapid expansion over the next several years. Einride will be responsible for all logistics, including infrastructure development, software, charging and maintenance.

In a statement, the company said, “the vehicles we are acquiring (Mercedes-Benz eActros 300) are already electric and will be built in Germany. However, all vehicles have customised Einride solutions to ensure optimal suitability for freight transport. Additionally, the vehicles are powered by our intelligent platform, Einride Saga, to optimise routes, charging needs and achieve the highest utilisation rates.”
