The Hedin Mobility Group is purchasing the dealership and retail services network in the Nordic countries in Sweden (Gothenburg, Helsingborg and Malmö), Norway (Bærum), Finland (Espoo) and Denmark (Odense).

The expansion project for hydrogen fuel storage tanks is set to take place in three phases. The first phase, which is scheduled for completion by the end of the year, will see a new 5,000 m2 production hall, bringing the overall production area to 16,000 m2.

Hexagon will supply batteries, battery systems and the integration into DTNA’s battery electric Freightliner eM2 vocational trucks. Furthermore, the agreement encompasses power modules and power-take-off (PTO) technology.

Beginning in 2024, the company will integrate its batteries, battery software and auxiliary modules into the unnamed North American OEM’s electric vocational trucks.

Employing 250 skilled workers, the centrally located facility will support the efficient production and distribution of complete BEV heavy-duty trucks for the North American market.

Speaking with Deniz Cetin, Chief Commercial Officer at Karsan Automotive & Board Member at Group Companies at Cenex (2023), T&BB was informed that Karsan has bid on autonomous electric bus contracts (tenders) in Spain, Israel, Qatar and Canada. Deniz confirmed that Karsan recently delivered an autonomous bus to Istanbul which comes off the back of two successful autonomous bus trials in Norway and the USA.

There are now seven autonomous FH trucks operating at the site, managed remotely via a touch screen in the wheel loader. 

The company has signed a framework agreement with Norwegian food retailer, ASKO, to build fast-charging infrastructure for its electric trucks at its 13 logistics depots in various parts of Norway.

Einride has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Norwegian postal service, PostNord, to electrify 1,500km of Norwegian highway to bring zero-emission transport to the market.

Manufactured in Kassel, this hybrid version means operators no longer must choose between manual or electrically operated ramps, with both combined in one unit.

The prototype is based on the Hino ‘XL’ 4x2 configuration, but fitted with a powertrain assembled by Hexagon Purus, including its proprietary battery systems, auxiliary modules, power modules, and control software.

Hexagon Purus says the 60,000-square-foot facility will have an annual production capacity exceeding 1,000 battery systems and will employ up to 150 engineers and assembly technicians.
