Fuso is set to go CO2 neutral at all its Japanese factories by 2025

Japan - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (“Fuso”) (a Daimler Truck subsidiary) of Kawasaki, Japan, announced plans to go CO2 neutral at all its Japanese production plants by 2025. The company has three factories in Japan, the Kawasaki Plant, which produces trucks vehicles and industrial engines, the Nakatsu Plant, which manufactures transmissions and the Toyama City Plant, where Fuso buses are produced. Fuso maintains that this accelerated target is the most ambitious CO2-neutral production plan amongst any of the Japanese OEMS.

The strategy to execute this plan involves a multifaceted approach. All three locations have shifted their entire electricity supply to renewable energy sources exemplified by the 9,000 square metres of solar photovoltaic panels installed at the Kawasaki plant over the last several years. Fuso has already reduced CO2 emissions at its Kawasaki and Nakatsu Plants by over 20% from 2015 levels.
