Lafarge Canada to trial two Vicinity Motor battery trucks in aggregates operations

CanadaVicinity Motor Corp of Aldergrove, British Columbia has announced that Lafarge Canada Inc, a subsidiary of the Holcim Group, is trialling two of its battery electric trucks in its aggregates and ready-mix operations in the province of British Columbia, Canada. 

The cement and concrete manufacturer, based in Calgary, Alberta, is looking to transition its fleet to 100% electric vehicles with Vicinity Motor’s Class 3 ‘VMC 1200’ trucks. The VMC 1200 is fitted with a 120-kW motor and lithium-ion batteries providing up to 150 kWh of energy and a range of up to 180 miles.
