Sweden / UKScania AB, a subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Södertälje, Sweden, has received an order for 2,500 trucks, including 100 battery electric trucks, from a purchasing consortium based in the UK.

The order consists of 2,400 trucks powered by the ‘Super’ drivetrain, launched in 2021, and 100 battery electric 4x2 tractor units for regional haulage. They will go to food and drinks logistics company Culina Group of Market Drayton; to heavy haulage firm WS Transportation of Runcorn; and forestry company A W Jenkinson of Clifton in Cumbria. Each vehicle comes with three years of full repair and maintenance, with some having been financed by Scania’s financial services.
