Mahle to sell off its thermostat business

By Bradley Osborne - 29th August 2023

Germany – Components manufacturer Mahle GmbH of Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg has announced plans to sell off its thermostat business for an undisclosed sum, as part of a strategic move away from internal combustion engines.

Mahle currently develops thermostats for controlling the cooling water temperature of internal combustion engines at its headquarters. However, with its business moving increasingly towards components for electric powertrains and “green” combustion engines, Mahle has taken the decision to divest from thermostat design and production. Production lines in Mühlacker (Baden-Württemberg), Busan (South Korea), Grugliasco (Italy), and Holýsov (Czech Republic) will be affected.
