USACummins Inc of Columbus, Indiana has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the U.S. subsidiary of oil and gas giant Chevron Corporation (based in San Ramon, California), laying the foundations for a strategic collaboration in alternative fuels such as hydrogen, natural gas, and sustainable forms of petrol/diesel.

The MoU builds on an agreement signed in 2021 which primarily covered hydrogen and renewable natural gas. This new and expanded alliance will extend also to “renewable gasoline blends, biodiesel and renewable diesel”. Both companies will contribute to research and development into alternative fuel technologies and will cooperate in scaling up production and distribution of said fuels.
