UK – The UK bus and coach market experienced its best Q2 registrations (1,129) since 2019, according to second quarter 2023 results published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

The market saw total growth of 5.9% compared with the same period of the previous year. Double deck registrations grew by a massive 211.3% to 193, while single decks grew by a relatively modest 32% to 478. On the other hand, minibus registrations fell by 28.7% to 458 in the second quarter. SMMT attributed the overall positive results to growing passenger numbers post-pandemic, helped by measures such as the extension of the Bus Fare Cap Grant.
