Plastic Omnium to build NA’s largest hydrogen storage tank factory in Michigan

France / USACompagnie Plastic Omnium SA (“Plastic Omnium”) of Levallois, France has announced plans to build North America’s largest production facility for hydrogen storage tanks in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan. 

Representing an investment of approximately USD170m, the 200,000-square-foot plant will produce up to 100,000 high-pressure hydrogen vessels annually when it is completed. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation will support the project with up to USD7.4m, and local authorities are committing money as well. The finished plant will create 175 high-tech manufacturing jobs, according to Plastic Omnium. The facility is planned to be 100% carbon neutral.
