Ashok Leyland wins Defence vehicles order worth USD 97.5 million

India – Ashok Leyland Ltd of Chennai, a Hinduja Group has received an order from India’s Ministry of Defence valued at USD 97.5 million (m). The order from the Defence Sector, includes the procurement of the Field Artillery Tractor (FAT 4x4) units and Gun Towing Vehicles (GTV 6x6).

The FAT 4x4 and GTV 6x6 are specialized vehicles employed by the artillery for towing light and medium weight guns, respectively. Ashok Leyland said the Defence contracts underscores the company's commitment to indigenous manufacturing and its position as a trusted partner for the Indian Armed Forces.
