Volvo NA expands customer experience track in Dublin, Virginia

Volvo Trucks Customer Center in Dublin, Virginia

USAVolvo Group North America Inc of Greensboro, North Carolina announced the completion of expansion work on its customer experience track in Dublin, Virginia, adding new road and terrain features to test out the dynamic steering system in Volvo trucks.

The test track now comprises a three-mile course, including a new one-mile straight track allowing trucks to reach highway speeds. At certain points in the course, the gradients have been increased by 6-7%, and the S-curves tightened, to stretch the capabilities of the Volvo Dynamic Steering (VDS) system. In addition, an 8-inch concrete curb drop build-out simulates road hazards such as uneven roads and ditches. A gravel section of the course is designed for trucks intended for offroad applications.
