Tractor sales enjoy rising demand in Q1 of 2023-24

India - Tractor sales in the first quarter (April to June) of 2023-24 increased by 51.9% to register 14,479 units compared with 9,535 units in the same quarter of the previous year (FY 2022-23). Tractor production increased by 52% overall from 10,390 units to 15,796 units, but export sales declined by 66.7%.

The light-weight tractor (26.4 tons < GVW ≤ 40 tons) segment saw sales shrink by 9.7% to 1,131 units in Q1/FY2023-24, down from 1,253 units in the same quarter of FY2022-23. Export sales fell sharply by 74.1%, but production increased by 13.5%.
