Parker Hannifin opens new test rig for fuel cell components in Stuttgart

New test rig in Parker Hannifin's Stuttgart R&D facility

USA / GermanyParker Hannifin Corporation, a motion and control technologies specialist based in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, USA has opened a new test rig for fuel cell components at its research and development facility in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

The new test rig is specifically designed to validate its hollow fibre membrane products for its OEM customers. Parker claims that its membranes, used in humidification in fuel cell systems, will allow fuel cells to maintain optimal moisture levels and consequently perform more efficiently and last longer. The new investment paves the way for the mass production of these hollow fibre membranes for fuel cell applications, according to Parker.
