Vicinity Motor opens Ferndale, Washington facility for CV production

Canada / USAVicinity Motor Corporation, a commercial vehicle manufacturer based in Aldergrove, British Columbia, Canada, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new factory in Ferndale, Washington, USA on 12 September.

At the new 100,000-square-foot site, Vicinity Motor will build its truck and bus ranges for the North American market. The Ferndale facility has the capacity to produce up to 850 ‘Vicinity Classic’ and ‘Vicinity Lightning’ (i.e., ICE and EV) buses and 6,250 ‘VMC 1200’ battery electric trucks per year. The company says it will also carry out research & development, assessment, and technical & servicing work all at the same site.
