Volvo to begin producing electric buses with MCV bodies from next year

Sweden / EgyptVolvo Bus Corporation of Gothenburg, Sweden has confirmed it will begin production of electric buses with bodies built by Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles (MCV) of Cairo, Egypt next summer, with customer deliveries to follow from the beginning of 2025.

The announcement came at a recent press conference, during which Volvo and MCV signed an agreement committing to the partnership broached earlier this year. Customer orders for Volvo 7900 Electric and 7900 Electric Artic models with MCV bodies are set to open in the latter part of this year. At a later date, the partners plan to release an electric intercity bus.
