Alexander Dennis confirms growing demand for Plaxton coaches

UK – UK bus and coach manufacturer, Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL) based in Larbert, Scotland, confirmed plans to build a “substantial number” of Plaxton (ADL’s coach range) coaches next year (2024). ADL announced that the 2024 Plaxton coaches (Leopard & Panther models) would be built on the Volvo B8R chassis with a choice of I-Shift (automated manual) and automatic transmissions. This is, however, not a new chassis and the company has been building these models on the B8R for a number of years. Furthermore, an upgraded interior is to be offered, allowing fitment of up to 72 Brusa seats. These coaches are set to be built at ADL’s Scarborough plant, which ADL says, “benefits from a flexible set-up that allows lines to be switched between coach and bus production.”
