European Council adopts its position on Euro 7/VII emission limits

Belgium – The European Council, an executive body made up of the heads of state of the European Union member states, has published a report of its general approach to proposed Euro 7/VII emission standards, lowering emission limits for commercial vehicles and slightly adjusting their test conditions.

The exhaust emission limits for M2, M3, N2, and N3 vehicles have also been simplified. (See the table below.) A special provision is made for urban buses to ensure coherence with proposed targets for these vehicles, which would mean that all new urban buses would need to be zero-emission by 2030.
