USA – At the Detroit Auto Show between 13-14 September, Stanadyne LLC showcased a new design of injector which can deliver fuels including hydrogen, compressed natural gas, and dimethyl ether.

The new injector design has two iterations: a high-pressure direct injector capable of fuelling applications from 25 to 200 kW per cylinder; and a high-flow port injector capable of “very high” gaseous fuel flow rates. Stanadyne stated these injectors will be compatible with light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicle engines. They are designed to be modular, in order to meet a variety of port-injected and direct-injected fuel delivery applications. The high-pressure direct injector operates on 12- or 24-volt architectures and can deliver gaseous fuel flow up to 300 bar, while the port injector can deliver gaseous fuel flow up to 15 bar.
