Japan – To expand production capacities to supply the increasing demand for air conditioners and components in the local market, Japanese HVAC manufacturer, Daikin Industries Ltd, headquartered in Osaka, has purchased land in Tsukubamirai City, Ibaraki Prefecture to build another manufacturing facility. According to the company, the facility will produce air handling units for air conditioners as well as full air conditioning units, with some purpose-built air conditioning systems for powering refrigerated semi-trailers.

Whilst details remain sparse, Daikin said it had chosen the location due to its proximity to a major port, airport and the Tokyo metropolitan area. The factory is scheduled to be operational by 2027.
