Belgium / Italy / South Korea – In collaboration with Hyundai Motor Corporation of Seoul, South Korea, Iveco Bus (a brand of the Iveco Group NV) based in Turin launched its new hydrogen city bus (Iveco Bus E-Way H2) earlier this month in Brussels at Busworld Europe. This hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric bus builds on the partnership with Hyundai, which was first announced in March 2022. This vehicle extends Iveco’s zero-emission range which includes BEVs.

Domenico Nucera, Iveco Group Bus Business President, presented the vehicle and explained that the E-Way H2 would be produced at the Iveco Bus plants in Annonay, France, and Foggia, Italy. The 12-metre low-floor city bus is equipped with a Siemens (Cummins) ELFA 3, 310-kW e-motor and an advanced fuel cell system provided by Hyundai. With four hydrogen tanks located on the roof and one 69 kWh battery pack by FPT Industrial, (Iveco Group subsidiary) the vehicle offers a driving range of 450 km (280 miles) and can accommodate 115 passengers.
