Canada – New Flyer Industries Canada ULC, a subsidiary of the NFI Group based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, has announced new battery options for its 60-foot ‘Xcelsior Charge NG’ bus which extend the vehicle’s range by approximately 46 miles.
The battery electric bus range is fitted with NMC batteries packaged by New Flyer. Customers will now have the choice of seven or eight packs, increasing the vehicle’s energy capacity by 33% and extending the range by 46 miles. This expanded capability makes the model suitable for use on high-volume traffic and bus rapid transit routes, according to New Flyer.
