USAShell plc, a multinational oil and gas company based in London, UK, released the results of its RNG ‘Starship 3.0’ demonstration project at an event held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on 10 October, showing considerable gains in freight ton efficiency over an average diesel truck.

The third-generation demo truck, powered by a Cummins ‘X15N’ engine with renewable natural gas, hauled a fully loaded trailer on an 840-mile round trip in California to collect performance data. The total weight of the truck-trailer combination was nearly 80,000 lbs.
