Westport's H2 HPDI demo truck in Spain
Canada / Spain – Westport Fuel Systems Inc of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada announced in October the successful completion of a road trial of its hydrogen high-pressure direct injection system with a supermarket chain (Mercadona) based in Spain.
The demonstration was carried out by logistics company Disfirmur SL, which operated a prototype truck pulling a refrigerated trailer in the capital city of Madrid. The truck was driven by an internal combustion engine fitted with Westport’s ‘H2 HPDI’ system, which enables it to run optimally with hydrogen fuel instead of diesel.
