USA / India – Indian battery materials firm, Epsilon Advanced Materials Pvt Ltd*, a subsidiary of Mumbai-based Epsilon Carbon Pvt Ltd, has announced plans to build a USD 650 million graphite anode** production facility in Brunswick County, North Carolina. This will strengthen the broader U.S. EV market, by supporting local U.S. battery production.

Epsilon announced that it expects to break ground at the new 1.5 million-square-foot facility in 2024 with manufacturing beginning in 2026. Once at full capacity in 2031, the factory will produce 50,000 tons of graphite anode per year. The factory is expected to employ 500 permanent staff members. These anode materials will of course be used in the construction of EV batteries for both passenger and commercial vehicle applications.
