UAW ratifies five-year agreement with Mack Trucks, ending month-long strike

USA – In November, Mack Trucks Inc, a subsidiary of the Volvo Group based in Greensboro, North Carolina, announced the ratification of a five-year collective bargaining agreement with members of the United Auto Workers (UAW) union. 

According to a Reuters report, 93% of 3,900 union members working at Mack Trucks voted to accept the deal. Under the terms of the new contract, the average wage will increase by 36% over five years, with an average immediate raise of nearly 15%. For those paid below the top rate, comprising nearly half of the workforce, the average wage increase will be 55%, with an immediate raise of more than 20%.
