Indian rigid truck sales in Q2 of FY2023/24 rises 8.7% to 65,000 units

India - Sales of medium- and heavy-duty rigid trucks (7.5t gvw and above) in India grew by 8.7% in the second fiscal quarter (July-September, Q2) of FY 2023-24 to register 64,995 units from 59,778 units in the same quarter of fiscal year 2022-23. Exports of rigid trucks shrank by 42.3% to 2,050 units in Q2 of 2023/24 from 3,554 units in the same quarter of the previous year. Production of rigid trucks increased by 7% to 66,704 units in Q2 of FY 2023-24 from 62,351 units in Q2 of the previous year.
Sales of medium-duty rigid trucks (7.5t to 12 tons) increased by 13.9% to register 10,258 units in Q2 of FY 2023-24 from 9,009 units in Q2 of FY 2022-23. Exports declined by 33.8% to less than 1,000 units, whilst production increased by 9.8% to 12,402.
