Kenworth Founders

USA – Late last month, the founders of truck manufacturer, Kenworth Truck Co, a Paccar Inc company, based in Kirkland, Washington, were inducted into the American Trucking Industry Leader Hall of Fame class during a ceremony at the American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) headquarters on October 25, 2023. Founders Harry Kent and Edgar Worthington incorporated the Gersix Motor Company as Kenworth, in 1923, one hundred years ago. The first 78 gasoline powered trucks rolled off the production line in Seattle, that year. Since then, the company has produced over 1.3 million trucks. These two new inductees have been honoured for their contributions to the American trucking industry, which coincide with the company’s centenary celebrations.
