Tractor sales in India up by almost 50% in first half of 2023-24

India – High demand for tractor units boosted sales by 47.2% during the first half of FY 2023-24 to register 32,018 units compared with 21,756 units in the same period of the previous year (FY 2022-23). Tractor production increased by 51.3% from 21,960 units to 33,233 units, while export sales shrunk by 56.1%.
Registrations of light-weight tractor (31 tons < GVW ≤ 40 tons) rose by 25.9% to 3,268 units in the first half of FY 2023-24 from 2,596 units in the first half of FY 2022-23. Export sales fell by 91.7%, while production increased by 52.4%.
