France – At Solutrans 2023, held between 21-25 November at Eurexpo in Lyon, France, Milence BV, the Volvo-Daimler-Traton joint venture based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, presented a prototype charger for fast megawatt charging of heavy electric trucks.
At the show, Milence presented the initial result of a collaborative project with sustainable energy firm Hitachi Energy Ltd of Zürich, Switzerland. The prototype Megawatt Charging System (MCS) is intended to fully recharge a heavy-duty truck in 30-40 minutes, allowing a driver to charge his vehicle up and obtain up to 500 kilometres additional range during his statutory 45-minute break.
