UK bus and coach market continues post-pandemic recovery with 130.6% growth in Q3 2023

UK – The UK bus and coach market experienced its best summer (1,739 registrations) since 2019, according to statistics published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). 

The market grew by a whopping 130.6% compared to the same period of the year prior. Registrations of double deckers continued their meteoric growth, with a 214.4% increase to 327 units. Minibuses also performed very well, recording growth of 156.3% to 1,074 units. Single deck buses grew by a relatively modest 46.3% to 338 units. SMMT reports that, according to the Confederation of Passenger Transport bus ridership between July and September returned to pre-pandemic levels for the very first time.
