Ashok Leyland wins order for 1,282 fully built buses from Gujarat State

Chennai / Gujarat - Ashok Leyland Ltd of Chennai has announced that it has received an order for 1,282 fully built buses from Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC)¹.

With deliveries to take place in a phased programme, Ashok Leyland will deliver 55-seater fully assembled 12 metres long (16t gvw) buses (Ashok Leyland 12m Viking fully built bus), powered by Ashok Leyland’s iGen6 H-Series, 6-cylinder BS VI diesel engine which is matched with a manual 6-speed synchromesh cable shift gearbox with overdrive. The axles, spaced at six metres, are fitted with rubber-ended leaf springs and air suspension front and rear.BS VI diesel buses in a phased manner.
