Women Centric Trim Line at Ashok Leyland's Pantnagar Plant
India - Ashok Leyland Ltd of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, has inaugurated a new ‘Women-only’ Cabin Trim Line’ at its Pantnagar plant, Uttarakhand to promote gender diversity, equality and to try and attract more women to the manufacturing industry.
At the head of each section a women is in charge, responsible for every aspect of the production line component sourcing, production planning, and quality assurance. The ‘Women-Only’ line received the painted vehicle cabins and fits all the interior components ranging from the steering system, windshields, and windows to electronic elements, headlights, and driver seats. Once the cabin is equipped with the requisite components, the vehicle undergoes thorough testing to ensure that all functions, for comfort and safety, are in optimal working order.
