Japan - Hino Motors Ltd, headquartered in Tokyo, has confirmed its reinstatement in the Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies (CJPT) consortium, marking a pivotal return after its expulsion from the partnership a year prior due to a high-profile emissions cover-up scandal. This significant development underscores the company's commitment to sustainability and technological advancement.

The CJPT consortium was established initially in early 2021 through the collaborative efforts of Hino, Isuzu, and Toyota. Their collective goal was to expedite the adoption of zero-emission and connected technologies within the commercial vehicle sector while simultaneously fostering the development of essential infrastructure. Suzuki and Daihatsu, specializing in the mini and light commercial vehicle segments, joined this innovative initiative several months later.
