Rivian launches sales of Class 2 electric delivery van, ending Amazon exclusivity

USA – In November, Rivian Automotive Inc of Irvine, California announced that its battery electric step vans, originally made exclusively for Amazon, are now available to any interested fleet customers, with deliveries beginning next year.

The ‘EDV’, short for ‘Electric Delivery Van’, was produced for Amazon package deliveries; since production began in 2021, around 10,000 vehicles have been produced for Amazon in the U.S. and Europe. Now, Rivian is breaking from its exclusive arrangement with Amazon to offer the EDV to other customers.
