Scania releases details of new ‘Super’-based biogas engines with 5% fuel savings

SwedenScania AB, a subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Södertälje, Sweden, has revealed details of its new biogas engines, which are based on the latest ‘Super’ powertrain and are available now. 

The new 13-litre gas engines, which can run on Bio-LNG or Bio-CNG, deliver either 420 or 460 horsepower, depending on the configuration. They are fitted with a fuel injection system supplied by Bosch. In a 40-tonne tractor-trailer combination, the engines can achieve ranges up to 1,800 kilometres.
